Greetings Universe. This time I made a quick video of my code being executed.
As can be seen, it is far from perfect, but it works. Making a quadruped fk/ik rig with toes, SDKs and all, in only 1 minute is a lot quicker than doing it manually. There is of course a lot left to fix and polish, especially since this is still pure Mel, so I keep it divided up so it’s easier for me to modify it when needed.
And since I have been making all the changes that the animator asked for, that also means changing the entire Mel scripts accordingly. As well as me changing my naming conventions 4 times so far, to make the workflow more streamlined.
And because of that it has not left me with any time to start reading up on python, so I can incorporate that into the script to make it better.
But as we all know, Rome wasn’t built in a day. So, for the next days I won’t have much to show, since I will just be working on modifying the code and learning python and incorporating that into the Mel monster I have created. While also finding a better solution to the universal joint on the ankles, so it will work smoothly with the leg movements. And while I’m at it I should also just find a way to clone myself.
